This electric bike sports two independently mounted side-by-side wheels and his kept upright by an internal gyroscope. Much like a Segway, the Uno moves for and aft by leaning in the given direction and turns in the same manner—lean forward to go, lean back to stop. This lightweight electro-cycle can reach speeds of 25 mph, has nearly 2.5 hours of run time and weighing only 125 lbs means you can even drag it into an elevator.
Ben Gulak, the 18-year-old inventor from Canada said a recent trip to China where small polluting two-strokes are the norm, fueled his inspiration to create this green machine. Gulak hopes the Uno will be the wave of the future for inner-city transport and barring that people don’t crash them as often as they do Segways, we can only wonder.
