Just picked up the all new for the US 2009 Kawasaki ER-6N.
Traditionally standard and streetfighter bikes have not done well in the US. Has Kawasaki made the bike to finally change all that?
The 2009 Kawasaki ER-6N is new for the US but not Kawasaki. Basically a stripped down 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 650R, it shares all of the same power train and components.
Initial riding impressions are positive. As the saying goes, it's always more fun to ride a slow bike fast, then a fast bike slow. While the Kawasaki ER-6N won't be setting any track records anytime soon it is absolute hoot on the street.
Positives:
- Peppy 70+ hp engine
- Comfortable ergos
- Low seat height
- Unique styling
Negatives
- Banana rear seat
- Huge rear passenger pegs
- Low power and no windscreen makes for a rough freeway ride
