Zamora picks up a 1986 Suzuki GSX-R750

 So when does a hobby become an obsession?

I think my blood must be oil cooled because I just picked up another 1986 Suzuki GSX-R750. And the price couldn't have been better.

 If you've been reading my blogs you know by now that I have been working on a 1987 Suzuki GSX-R750. I love these bikes and they hold a special place in my heart.

I always look for good deals on these bikes and while surfing E-bay last weekend, I came across this little gem. It was bone stock with only a few minor problems.

Because the 1987 GSX-R project bike was being completely upgraded, I had all the missing pieces to the puzzle to restore the 1986. So I contacted the seller and arranged to see it.

Low and behold he not only the  blue and white GSX-R, but was the original owner of another red and black one. The seller, Martin, bought his GSX-R new back in 1986 and has had it ever since.

We got to talking and ended up working out a trade. I would get the white GSX-R in exchange for making his bike new again.

So not only did I walk away with another bike for my collection that I could return to stock, I also get the opportunity to restore a 3rd GSX-R!

There was no way I could pass up that deal, and I look forward to helping an original owner of one of these bad boys enjoy his bike as much as the day he bought it.
