The Travis Pastrana/Red Bull show is over...until next year anyways.
What have the X Games become? A haven for washed up FMX riders to try their hand at numerous other events (shall I say Brian Deegan racing rally cars?) huh?
And then there's that guy who apparently can't actually ride a bike but attempts backflips clad in hockey and football pads.
The big air board/bike ramp seemed cool, but I don't recall seeing anybody actually land a trick over it. So again, I'm confused.
My disappointment is mostly due to the fact that I actually planned a couple days around watching the X Games, but with no new talents (are all pro skateboarders 35+ years old?) and FMX judging apparently done by corporate sponsors, the XG was really quite a farce. Not to mention one big Red Bull advertisement.
Count me out next year — I'll be riding instead.
