Living With The Big Kawi

Kawasaki ZX-14 Review

So I've been commuting and living with the ZX-14 for over a week now and I'm really enjoying it...

...at first it's size and weight were annoying since I was coming off a 600 but a few days in the saddle and you adjust. I now find myself short shifting because of the tremendous torque and small gaps the 600 would squeeze through...well I no longer try.

The big Kawi has tons of power, is comfortable to ride and handles pretty well for it's size. Even though I've been confined to the city (which is out of its element) the ZX-14 has been a great bike...though I never get out of third gear!

Recap:

Ups: Big power, strong brakes, comfortable, looks mean

Downs: Heavy, gas mileage (averaging around 29), soft suspension

Overall: a straight bullet that's soft to do it all
