A couple players rolled up to "the spot" the other night on new bikes, but only wearing helmets, gloves and t-shirts...

I asked one of them why he wasn't wearing a jacket and he replied, "I'm not cold."

Wow.

Right, you might not be cold but that's not really the point of wearing protective gear. You could wear three hoodies to protect against cold air, but they won't be very effective when your shoulder meets the pavement.

We're not in Florida where it's 100,000 degrees either; it was about 65 out—perfect jacket weather!

1. Ha ha, you have to be cold to wear a jacket? Idiot. I see these guys all the time, they're the ones who lane split at 50+ mph.

I always wear my jacket. The only thing I may skimp on is pants (I wear regular jeans). I'm still looking for riding pants. I'm too small for most.

2. lol damn. 65 is perfect to wear a jacket. i need to get a new suit, ( anyone have a size 42 they want to get rid of) i want the rc-1 race suit made by alpine star. its black with the white a-star. and i like the black s-mx plus riding boots. 3. I'm from Louisiana and during the summer it got over 105 and I was still wearing my Automag Factory Dunlop jacket. It's leather but it has a removable liner and tons of vented spots you can unzip to allow more air flow. Granted it sucked a little at red lights but the wind keeps you cool enough and I just don't wanna test the durability of anything less than leather if the worst were to happen.

5. I don't understand riding without a jacket, although I'll admit to having done so in my youth (yes, I'm pretty old). Not comfortable. Perhaps I'm not as tough as others, but the constant flapping of a shirt proved to be quite irritating. During the hottest days I'll get the predictable, cliched comments from HD riders from time to time: "Hey, aren't you hot wearing that jacket?" I usually reply something like: "Yeah, I'm a bit warm, but if I crash I get to buy a new jacket. If YOU crash, you get to learn about modern techniques in skin grafting".
