SSB recently traveled to Germany to test out the latest rubber from Continental: the RoadAttack 2.
Continental calls its RoadAttack 2 a "sport touring" tire, but after testing it thoroughly at Continental's private test facility under numerous conditions I'd say it's more of a sportbike tire than sport touring.
The Contidrom test facility was the place where we put the rubber to the test at the high speed oval, road course and wet track, and it performed exceptionally well. While we only had one true sportbike on test (Zx-6R) we still were able to push the tire extremely hard. In fact, most of the bikes (GSX 650, Ninja 650, Bandit 1250) reached their limits long before the tire.
We'll have a full review coming shortly, but one feature I'd like to get you thinking about is the Road Attack 2's "Traction Skin."
Would you feel safer and more confident if your new tires didn't require a "scrubbing in" period? That's precisely what the Traction Skin is all about and it performed well. In a nutshell, the tires' finish isn't glossy and slimy anymore; it's ready to ride as soon as it's installed. No more crashing as you pull away from the dealership!
