Do you ride in the rain?

And I don't mean by accident. If you know it's going to rain all day will you still ride?

If so, do you have proper wet-weather specific riding gear? How does it work for you?

In Cali the bad traffic becomes utter gridlock when it rains, so riding is mandatory (don't forget, we're allowed to lane split). Yet I see a lot of riders wearing regular riding gear which must mean they're soaking wet by the time they get to their destination.

I'm yet to find any single product on the market that's truly "waterproof." Anybody have a secret they'd like to fill me in on?

1. i'll ride intentionally in the rain if i'm not going further than a few miles. i just hate croossing railroad tracks while they're wet. i use windex with rain-x on my visor and bike before leaving and wear thin polypropylene shirt and pants underneath my clothes to keep the skin as dry as possible and warm

2. Grundéns bibs and hooded jacket, with varying amounts of layers. As I've learned from my time patroling the Gulf of Alaska; If its good enough for a King Crab fishermen, then it's good enough for riding...This applies to foul weather bike gear only and not other things such as women.

3. I ride in the rain when I know I'm just riding to and from the office. Get yourself a Tourmaster Sentinel suit (has a hood to keep water from going down the back of yoru neck) and some Sidi WP boots and you'll stay very dry. Gloves I have no idea. I've tried everything I can think of short of wearing dishwashing gloves, hands still get soaked. Also if your shield is not anti-fog treated, pick up some Scott Anti-Fog spray (meant for MX goggles) and it will keep fog off the shield. Nothing you can do about actual condensation on your faceshield, but the fogging will be all but eliminated. Enjoy!!!

4. I ride in the rain and when I know I will I wear my northface rain coat when I do. Only problem is on 10-20-10 at 3 am my 2007 cbr 1000rr repsol edition was stolen. Im so glad I chose to ride in the rain less than twelve hours before my bike was stolen. Im sick about it part of me is missing. the theft was in el dorado, ar. I want my baby back!!!

8. I ride in the rain, I too have yet to find Motorcycle gear that is worth a crap. Last suit I got was the Icon stuff, the top of the line stuff, It leaked so bad I complained to my Rep and they have heard from enough people that they are trying to do something about it. Now Im back to my old stand by Cheepo rubber hip waders and a heavy duty fishing jacket.
