I've been spending a lot of time on my Ducati Streetfighter long-term tester lately and noticed that my chain was looking a little dry...
...so I rolled it into the shop and gave it some love thanks to a bottle of Bel Ray chain lube. Being that the chain wasn't too dirty, just dry, I didn't need to clean it first. I just wiped it off and gave it a nice coat.
Here are some important things to remember for proper chain maintenance:
-Grease at least once every 500 miles
-Make sure the chain is hot before applying any solution
-If the chain is dirty, clean it before applying grease
-Spin the chain as you apply the grease
-Wipe off extra grease and then let it sit on the chain for 5 minutes before moving the bike
