9 second Suzuki Bandit, badass!

I was paroozing our Reader's Rides section of the site and came across this killer Suzuki...

Bandit! This is truly a sleeper, a deeeeeep 9 second street killer! Better think twice the next time you write off one of these big brutes.

Serious props to Recreatik for such a unique bike.

2. I got the slips to prove my times Dave.

Ok here's the best run from my Bandit:

60 feet: 1.401 sec
1/4 mile: 9.198 sec @ 148mph!!!!
I lost that time slip but i got one @ 9.295 secs.

I dont need to *** and if you really need video i'll get you video from the upcoming season.

My B12 is running a stock bottom end but almost everything else is ported modded cammed nitroused and tuned with a crapload of patience and on a very limited budget. Girlfriend, three kids, house, 2 cars, 1 bike get it? Oh and i'm 42, not 16.

Did you read the mail i sent ya 3 month ago Dave? Or do you consider only painted, slammed and stretched driveway queens for your magazine?

4. Dang, 1.4 60-Ft, now that's some serious launching right there! You must have some strong neck muscles!

9.19 is almost knocking on 8's, that's fast! I don't know too much about Bandits, but I remember someone saying that GSX-R1100 intakes cam do wonders for them. What have you done as far as head work and with your cams?

I'm curious, I've always liked Bandits and they're looking more and more like the perfect budget drag bike that's a little different than you average sportbike.

5. Yup knocking on the 8's is right but i think i've juiced every last drop of power i can off this bike.

Those 60 footers are impressive arent they? lol! I was not riding the bike for those numbers btw... A pro dragracer was and he's a tiny little thing 150lbs suited. i can still make some mid 1.5's though myself.

The head is a custom ported done by STETRACER in Florida. the valves are recessed and a 60mil shave with ape hd springs. the cams are from a 1990 GSX-R 750 and are degreed for top end performance. made my own adjustable cam sprockets.

The bandits are pretty good bike with engines that react very well to tuning (same desing as the oil cooled GSX-R's 1100 and many parts are interchangeable. the coolest thing is you can get parts really really cheap and are the perfect budget dragbike.
